Tourism Minister, Enrique Meyer said that in Argentina, more than one million jobs related to tourism have been created, during a Government House ceremony in which President Cristina Fernández presented an Strategic Plan for Tourist development.
Cristina said that the creation of the million jobs took place between 2003 and 2009, “due to a very clear policy carried about on a regional basis”.
Meyer, on the other hand, reported that in 2010 more than 5.3 million foreign tourists arrived to the country and informed that Argentina is now the main destination of European tourists.
The President commented that “we have a wonderful country and it is good to think about it over strategic terms, not only regarding tourism but also in other aspects of out national life”.
“We must also learn to always look ahead, not only in our own interests, but also considering our children and grandchildren. We have to think in great terms for the benefit of all”, added Cristina.
